Why this resort earns its keep

The highlights, in plain language

  • Multi-bedroom suites

True two- and three-bedroom configurations with separate kids' rooms — not connecting doors that everyone hates.

  • Kids' club worth using

Marine biology days, Spanish lessons, mini-chef classes. Run by people who actually like kids.

  • Five-pool layout

Quiet adults-only pool, family pool with shallow zones, splash park, lap pool, and a tucked-away teen pool with shaded cabanas.

  • Dining adults will love

Eight restaurants including a real Italian with a wood-burning oven and a Mexican chef's table that takes only ten guests a night.

  • Swimmable beach

One of the only Tourist Corridor resorts on a protected, swimmable bay — bring goggles.

  • Family concierge

Stroller delivery, baby-proofing on request, Pediatric on call. Logistics that disappear so you can actually relax.

The vibe

Friendly, polished, and well-run — the kind of all-inclusive that takes the friction out of a family trip without feeling like a cruise ship. Music levels are dialed in: lively at the family pool, calm at the adults-only side, and properly off after 10pm in the suite wings.

You'll see a lot of multigenerational groups. Grandparents with their own suite, parents with kids, everyone meeting at breakfast and going their own ways from there.

Rooms & suites

Skip the entry-level rooms — they're fine, but the value play here is the Family Ocean Suite. Two real bedrooms, two bathrooms, a true living room, and a wraparound balcony big enough to eat breakfast on while the kids are still asleep.

If you're a group of four to six adults plus kids, the Three-Bedroom Penthouse is a steal compared to two regular suites. It comes with a private rooftop pool, a dedicated butler, and an outdoor dining table for ten.

Food & beverage

The Italian ("Limone") is the consistent winner — wood-fired pizza, a real Caesar made tableside, gelato that justifies the calories.

The Mexican chef's table is the splurge meal of the trip. Six courses, smoke and fire, a tequila pairing if you want it. Book it for night one or night two so you can rave about it the rest of the trip.

Breakfast room service is included and arrives on time. Order the chilaquiles, fresh juice, and a French press.

Service

Service quality is consistent — the rare all-inclusive where the same warmth at the lobby check-in carries through to the pool deck and the late-night room service.

Tip: WhatsApp your butler the day before you arrive with arrival times and any kid logistics (cribs, milk, allergies). They'll have it set up before you walk in.

Things to do

On-property: marine biology kids' day, surf lessons in the cove, a tequila tasting in the cellar that adults can sneak off to during nap time.

Off-property: 25 minutes to downtown San José for the Thursday night Art Walk. Galleries, music in the plaza, and the best mezcal bar in town two blocks from the church.

Who this resort is for

Families with kids of any age. Multigenerational trips. Friend groups with mixed-age kids who want one base camp instead of a chaotic villa rental.

Less ideal for: pure honeymooners, party-focused friend groups, or travelers who want a boutique-scale property. The footprint here is intentionally generous.
