How to Choose a Cabo Resort You'll Actually Love
There is no single "best resort in Cabo" — there is only the best resort for your trip. The reviews that rave about a property for a couples' getaway can be exactly wrong for a family with young kids. Before I recommend anywhere, I work through a handful of questions with every client.
Who is coming, and what is the occasion?
A bachelorette weekend, a 40th birthday, a honeymoon, and a multigenerational family trip each want a different property — different pool scenes, different room layouts, different dinner reservations.
The occasion sets the tone. I start here because it rules out half the options immediately.
Do you need a swimmable beach?
Not all Los Cabos beaches are safe for swimming — this is one of the most common surprises for first-time visitors.
“Much of the Los Cabos coastline has strong currents and is not safe for swimming, no matter how stunning it looks.”
This is the question that surprises people most. Much of the Los Cabos coastline has strong currents and is not safe for swimming, no matter how stunning it looks. If beach swimming matters to you, that narrows the list to specific stretches and properties.
If you are happy with pools and ocean views, the whole coast opens back up — including some of the most dramatic cliffside resorts.
Adults-only or family-friendly?
Some resorts are built for grown-up calm — quiet pools, lounge-y bars, no kids' club. Others are genuinely excellent for families, with water features, supervised programs, and suites that sleep everyone comfortably.
Booking the wrong side of this is the fastest way to a disappointing trip. It is worth getting right.
All-inclusive or à la carte?
Los Cabos has world-class dining — many clients prefer a curated restaurant list over all-inclusive meals.
All-inclusive can be wonderful for convenience and groups. But in a region with food this good, a lot of my clients prefer a room-only base and a curated list of restaurant reservations out in town.
There is no wrong answer — only what fits how you like to travel.
Where I come in
“You tell me how you want the trip to feel, and I handle finding the place that delivers it.”
Once I know these answers, I match you to properties I trust from firsthand experience — and because I book through preferred-partner programs, I can often add perks like resort credits, breakfast, or upgrades at no extra cost to you.
That is the whole idea: you tell me how you want the trip to feel, and I handle finding the place that delivers it.
